the tea stand

The Tea Stand is the first original short film currently in production at Little Stage Studios and represents the studio's commitment to handcrafted storytelling through practical filmmaking.Set within a quiet fantasy forest, the film follows a small woodland traveler who stumbles upon an isolated tea stand after an exhausting journey. Operated by an intimidating but compassionate keeper, the humble shop becomes the setting for an unexpected encounter that reminds both characters (and the audience) that appearances often hide gentle hearts. Through subtle performances and a peaceful atmosphere, the story celebrates kindness, hospitality, and the restorative comfort found in simple acts of generosity.Every element of the production is being built by hand. From the expressive puppet performances and miniature environments to handcrafted props, practical lighting, and carefully composed cinematography, The Tea Stand embraces traditional filmmaking techniques to create a world that feels tangible and inviting. Rather than relying on digital spectacle, the film seeks to capture the charm of physical craftsmanship, where every texture, shadow, and movement contributes to the illusion of a living storybook. As Little Stage Studios' current flagship production, The Tea Stand reflects the studio's philosophy that meaningful stories do not require enormous budgets or massive sound stages, only imagination, patience, and a dedication to the craft of practical filmmaking. It marks the beginning of an ongoing journey to create intimate fantasy films that celebrate wonder through handmade artistry.

mission

At Little Stage Studios, we believe that limitations are not obstacles, they're opportunities for creativity! Built on the philosophy that a little stage can create big worlds, our studio is dedicated to crafting original films through practical artistry, thoughtful storytelling, and meticulous craftsmanship.Every production begins by hand. We design and build the puppets, construct the miniature environments, craft the props, and then carefully light the scenes for photography. This makes our worlds feel tangible and lived in. Rather than relying on spectacle alone, we embrace the enduring magic of practical filmmaking, where every detail reflects the care and imagination of the people who made it.Our stories span fantasy, horror, and heartfelt adventure, exploring themes of courage, compassion, curiosity, and the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary. Whether following a wandering woodland traveler, uncovering ancient mysteries, or stepping into whimsical new worlds, we strive to create films that linger in the imagination long after the credits roll!Little Stage Studios exists to celebrate the timeless craft of filmmaking and to prove that meaningful cinema can emerge from even the smallest of stages. By combining traditional techniques with a passion for visual storytelling, we hope to inspire audiences, encourage fellow creators, and remind people that wonder is something we can still build with our own hands.

the three studios

Little Stage Studios is home to three distinct creative labels, each representing a different storytelling tradition while sharing the same foundation of handcrafted filmmaking, practical effects, and cinematic artistry.Rather than separating our work into unrelated projects, these labels help audiences know what kind of experience to expect. Whether you're looking for whimsical fantasy, atmospheric horror, or grounded drama, each studio has its own creative identity while remaining part of the same artistic vision.Whirligig celebrates fantasy, adventure, and stories filled with wonder.Slow Creep explores atmospheric horror, folklore, mystery, and psychological suspense.Shadowbox is dedicated to action, thrillers, drama, and other grounded or genre-defying stories that fall outside the worlds of Whirligig and Slow Creep.Though each label tells different kinds of stories, they are united by a shared belief: that meaningful cinema can be crafted through imagination, practical artistry, and a passion for storytelling.
